Mindfulness is the ability to tune into the present moment. It requires an intention to direct your attention in a purposeful way. The ability to tune into the present moment has many benefits including enabling the ability to make behavioral choices as opposed to falling into our habitual and automatic routines. Our brain is malleable and with time can be rewired so that we are not always operating on automatic pilot. We can be purposeful with our words and actions and live a life with intention.
